Whew. Here we are friends, with our last prompt for the end of the Blog Everyday in May challenge. Can you believe we made it? 31 days. 31 posts. And from when the challenge began to now, I feel that so much has happened. New responsibilities at work. Celebrated a lovely couple at their wedding. Moved to a new home. Had a weekend away at the Pembrokeshire Coast. Toasted to our 3rd wedding anniversary. Began to settle into our house.
May was a big, wonderful and eventful month.
And seeing how much has happened in a short 31 days makes today’s prompt predicting what life will be like in the next five years pretty challenging.
But a prompt is a prompt, so let’s give this a whirl.
The next five years will bring…
- Adventures and exploring throughout Wales and Europe
- Love and laughter, between Neal and I
- Growing into marriage even more
- Building bonds of friendship both back home and here in the UK
- Challenges of a wide variety, from developing my career to new personal challenges
- Completed the process for my dual British citizenship
- Finally learning how to drive in the UK
Does this list feel a bit vague? I thought that too. Because here is the absolute, without a doubt, scary truth: anything can happen. Life is filled with unlimited possibilities, of challengs and triumphs, of victories and failures. Anything can happen in the next five days or weeks or months, let alone five years.
Keeping that in mind, here is my goal:
Welcome life with open arms, grace and laughter.
Will life be perfect? Of course not. Will we have overflowing bank accounts or suddenly become skinny? Nope. (But wouldn’t that be grand?) Will life be without challenges or obstacles? Of course not, but the challenges are what make life interesting!
I don’t know about you friends, but this makes me feel excited. Excited for the twists and turns of life, and excited for chances I will be given to grow.
To my friends who joined in for the Blog Everyday in May challenge, thank you for coming along for the fun. I have comments and posts to read over the next few days, but I did enjoy participating and others jump starting their writing habits too! If you were thinking of joining in, it isn’t too late! Take a look at the prompts and challenge yourself to a week or two of blogging everyday. Blogging everyday for the past month has given me the creative boost I have need for a few months, and I am looking forward to getting into more storytelling over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on what life will be in the next five years! Happy Sunday my friends!
