Good morning friends and happy Saturday! How thrilled are you that we are on the brink of summer? We are about to start the season of long lazy days, trips to the beach, picnics in the park and lovely adventures.
Knowing that we are about to jump into summer has inspired today’s prompt:
What is on your summer bucket list?
Since we have just moved into a new house, much of our summer will be settling in rather than big travels which is more than find by me. Even though traveling isn’t in the plans for our summer, I know we can still have some adventures in this lovely season.
A Visit to the Largest Secondhand Bookshop in the World
Right on the board of England and Wales, is Hay-on- which is home to the largest secondhand bookshop in the world. Essentially, the small village with a population of less than 2,000 is home to countless (really, countless) books. I want to visit there on a weekend, and hunt for new literary finds.
Hosts an American-Style BBQ
Even though we have only been in the new house for a week, we are already planning on a 4th of July BBQ with all the American treats. This includes using my Mom’s recipe for pasta and potato salad, firing up the grill and even ordering sparklers!
Movies in the Park
Throughout the summer in Chester, there are evening movies shown in one of parks in the city. You can bring a picnic dinner (even a bit of bubbly) and enjoy a classic film on the big outdoor screen. I wanted to go last summer, but I missed my chance! This summer some of my favorite films are on offer including Wizard of Oz, Some Like it Hot and Roman Holiday. The bigger question, which movie should we go see?
Of course, a standing point on my summer bucket list is to head out for beach days with Neal and Freddy. I love packing up some snacks and heading out to the coast of Wales for sunshine. There isn’t much better than sunny beach days in the summer!
Hip hip hooray for summer adventures! Tell me sweet friends, what is on your summer bucket list?
