Welcome to the fourth day of Blog Everyday in May!
Today’s prompt is, “Write a thank you letter, to anyone for anything.”
I believe that positivity is closely connected to gratitude. The more we give thanks the happier our hearts are. So today’s prompt, “Write a thank you letter, to anyone for anything.” is a perfect match for Positivity Monday.
I had a few ideas of who I could thank in this blog post, but each time my ideas came back to my Dad. The rock of our family, who sometimes doesn’t get the thanks he really truly deserves. With that, I thought I would dedicate my thank you letter to my very special Dad.

This thank you letter is probably long overdue, but very much deserved. I know that we haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, but I want you to know that I appreciate and value all that you have given me as my Dad.
Thank you for teaching me the value of hardwork, of waking up early and staying late to get the job done. I have always been so impressed in how you have worked tirelessly to build your business from the ground up, putting 12 hour days or working the graveyard shift.
Thank you for showing me how important it is to speak your mind and be informed on topics. Our debates during dinner (although tense at times) taught me to standup for what I believe in, and have conviction. Even now, when I am speaking up for an idea or cause, I am reminded of those heated debates.
Thank you for being an example of strength, of consistent character and quiet love. Although we are not the most affectionate of families, I always knew you would be there for me if I ever needed guidance or support.
Thank you for instilling the wonder of learning in me. For teaching me how to fish, study history, read maps, how to drive, skip rocks and set up a tent. Thanks for explaining to me about the stars in the sky, the fossils in the ground and the plants around us. Thanks for doing weekly quizes out of National Geographic magazines, having me learn facts and figures along the way. You are like a walking guidebook for life, sharing wisdom and advice for those you pass.
Above all else, thank you for loving Mom and us girls quietly and with a warm heart. You are steady and the definition of a rock.
I hope you all enjoy writing your thank you letters and sending a bit of gratitude into the world!
