Today, for Travel Tuesday linkup I thought I would share a moment from our Paris trip last week. It was our first day exploring Paris and the sun was shining, and our tourist map and guide books lead us to Notre Dame Cathedral. I love photographing stained glass and details of stunning churches, so I was thrilled to visit this cathedral celebrating its 850 anniversary.
Instead of rushing into yet another line, we walked down the street and ordered two baguette sandwiches. There we sat in sun, eating yummy french fare, people watching and enjoying the energy. Then, as we were munching, the bells of the cathedral began ringing it was a wonderfully serene and relaxing moment.
After lunch we joined the line, but happily it only took us about 15-20 minutes. Once we entered, I realized that noon mass was being celebrating which inhibited the photography I could take, out of respect. There were signs throughout the cathedral that indicated where photos could be taken or not, which I was happy to follow. The irritating point was when other visitors didn’t follow the instructions, and were talking loudly. Major dislike.
Nonetheless, I am super happy with some of the photos I snapped at the cathedral.
The exterior of the Notre Dame Cathedral was just as beautiful as the interior, so of course I have to include a few of those pics too!
I loved visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, and photographing the amazing stained glass and architecture.
Can’t wait to share more from our Paris trip! I have hundreds and hundreds of photos to sort through….
