Guinness for Breakfast, Selection Sunday and Becoming a Godmother
Hello my lovelies and a very happy Monday to you. Yes, I know that we are in a love/hate relationship with Mondays, but we need to put on our big girl pants and get through it. One of my favorite ways of getting through the dreaded Monday blues is by reliving my weekend, and what others did with our time off.
With that, let me share a bit of our weekend….
Saturday was doing laundry and taking care of errands day. With Paris just around the corner, we don’t have much time left to get everything together. In picking up goodies for Paris, I ordered a few pairs of leggings…my very first. Now I am wondering what took me so long? They are hella (yeah, just went there) comfy and made me feel a bit like Audrey Hepburn. **Bless.**
On Sunday, we headed into town for breakfast. Normally we wouldn’t go out for a treat like this, but our cooker (oven to you and I) pretty much died Saturday morning. (Grrrr….not good!) But, making the best of the situation and since I was in a pub on St. Patrick’s Day…. I had a Guinness with breakfast. Yeah, that’s how I roll. {Sidenote: Green beer doesn’t exist here in the UK. Just in case you were wondering.}
They also sell funny Guinness hats, which I wasn’t too amused with. Freddy seems to enjoy it tons though.
Then, later in the day we attended our nephew Ben’s Christening where Neal and I accepted the role of being his Godparents. (You may remember from a few posts ago on my thoughts about being a Godmother. You can read them here.) Look at that little face, don’t you just want to squish it?
After the Christening, we changed from church going clothes to Zag gear in preparation for Selection Sunday fun. (Yes, there was more Guinness… in case you were wondering.) After looking at the upcoming programs, I realized the actual Selection Show wouldn’t be aired in the UK. This was something I could not miss. No way, no how. So, we made the best out a international situation and had a FaceTime call with our good friends Claire & Russell during the show. They propped up the iPad, and watched the show as if was in the room.
Of course Gonzaga was in the last bracket to be announced and I was getting nervous. And then they announced in the West region that Gonzaga will be a #1, and this was my reaction:
{Plus a few tears, don’t judge. I was just so happy and proud of them!}
Now, I am not going to get into if they deserve a #1 or not, because when it comes down to it NCAA tournament is unpredictable I just want them to focus on winning the first game, and not get too ahead of themselves. And the very best part is that they are playing at 8:10 GMT on Thursday, which means I can watch the game live. Hell yeah!!
Whew. What a weekend… how was yours? Enjoy St. Patricks Day or Selection Sunday like me? Love to hear about your adventures too….
Now, go out there and kick Monday to the curb.
XO,

Hi! I just wanted to say I’m a new follower to your blog! I love that photo of the dog with the hat. Border collie? We have one too!
Hi Chantal! Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower, I am so excited to have you here. Freddy is a short haired border collie, and he is way too smart for his own good. I will have to swing by your blog to say hello soon!
Looks like you had a great weekend. I mean, beer for breakfast? How could it not be awesome. And congrats on being Godparents
Thanks for linking up!
Looks like a great weekend! I have quite a few friends back in WA that are die-hard Zags fans, so am keeping my fingers crossed for all of you! x
Thanks for your Zag-support! I am really hoping that they just play well… however far that will take them. Fingers crossed.
