Three Things I am Looking Forward to in Edinburgh
Hello my lovely lovely blog readers and a very happy Tuesday to you! With so much anticipation for our upcoming trip Paris (in less than three weeks), I have neglected our trip up north to Edinburgh, Scotland this weekend! This of course, must be changed so I wanted to share the three things I am really looking forward to during our weekend away in Edinburgh.
#1: Edinburgh Castle
As you are aware from previous posts I love visiting castles and an upcoming visit to Edinburgh Castle is no exception. The Edinburgh Castle is rich with amazing British history. Like how King James VI was born there? Or that Mary, Queen of Scots (who the drink Bloody Mary was named for) ruled there and plotted against Henry VIII? (Yeah, I am a history geek.)
I cannot wait to photograph this landmark!

(Curious what other UK castles we have seen? Check those posts here: {Chepstow Castle}{Castell Coch} {Caerphilly Castle} {Denbigh Castle} )
#2: Have a JK Rowling Moment
Not only am I a history geek, but I am also a full fledged Harry Potter nut. (Judge if you’d like.) With that, I am super excited to visit The Elephant House cafe, where JK Rowling wrote much of the Harry Potter novels. Is it silly and slightly touristy? Yeah, you betcha. But, after we visit the castle it looks like a perfect place to stop grab a coffee and cake for a bit of a break!

#3 Experiencing Rugby
One of the reasons why Neal and I are heading up to Edinburgh this weekend is that Neal’s sister Laurie got us tickets to the Wales vs. Scotland Six Nations Rugby match. I have very little knowledge about rugby, except that it is really similar to American football but with less gear. It should be a fun experience, even though I have no idea what to expect.
Of course, it goes without saying… I am excited to spend time with Neal’s sister Laurie and to meet his Dad for the first time. Fun times! Be on the lookout for photos of the adventure, or be sure to follow me on Instagram for all the Scottish fun!
XO,

Greetings and welcome to my little corner of the blogging world. My name is Belinda and I am a newly married lady who moved from Seattle to Northern Wales. Why? To be with the love of life Neal. My blog is my attempt of making sense of my new life as a wife and an expat.

I’m very jealous that you’ll be visiting the birthplace of Harry Potter. Have fun in Edinburgh! P.S. My boyfriend has an interview with Aberystwyth university on Thursday. I may be in Wales with you in September.
I am really excited to have a Potterite moment. Way better than seeing where films were made, try were the books (and the magic) all started! Good luck to your boyfriend and his upcoming interview. Fingers crossed, it would be great to have another American expat here in Northern Wales….
Let me know if you need any Welsh tips! =)
Cheers,
Belinda
Oooh. I love the idea of castles…I’ve never been to one. My husband is a history geek and would love to go there. Pictures please?
Hi Lisette!

Rugby? All I know is that those guys have some buff bodies! Yikes.
I am looking forward to sharing the trip here on the blog and instagram. Should be really fun. The rugby? I am not so sure to be honest… but it should be an experience!
Enjoy the rest of your week!
