Tackling the “To-Do List” This Weekend
This past weekend wasn’t filled with crazy road trips seeing castles or abbeys, instead it was filled with a good old fashion “check shit off the to-do list” and happily that was accomplished. You see with the weekend away to Edinburgh and then Paris two weeks later, I need to pull life together (just a bit) and get stuff done.
This included tackling our front garden, from de-weeding to planting new bushes and bulbs it was a time commitment (plus oh I am sore this Monday morning!) Once it looks nice and tidy I will be sure to post a photo or two. My experiments in being a gardener are always a mixed bag I never have any idea of what I am doing!
We conquered laundry and sorting out our back room, clearing clutter and sorting stuff out. Since Saturday was sunny (bless!) we actually threw open the windows and let fresh air circulate throughout the house.
On Friday, Neal and I headed to Costco where we snagged a bottle of Ranch dressing. Not a big deal I know, but ranch isn’t sold in the “normal” grocery stores. It’s all about the small victories as an expat.

I also attempted to figure out how to start filing my taxes for 2012 as a US citizen living abroad. I have pages and pages of boring documents to sift through, don’t be jealous. I went from a 1040-EZ to having to fill out about 4-6 different forms. Hooray for being an American expat abroad. (Can you sense my sarcasm?)
I found this awesome old LP of South Pacific and Oklahoma at a local second hand store, for just 50p. I am going to keep my eye out for more muscial LP’s and then frame them! Neal is mocking me a bit for this idea since he is a collector of “real” LP’s not just musicals. But look at this artwork, I love how bright and fun it is…I can see it hanging on the wall in our guest room. Fun.

And of course, no weekend update is complete without sharing a pic of Freddy. Bless.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend too….and here is to another great week!
XO,

Greetings and welcome to my little corner of the blogging world. My name is Belinda and I am a newly married lady who moved from Seattle to Northern Wales. Why? To be with the love of life Neal. My blog is my attempt of making sense of my new life as a wife and an expat.

I’ve just found your blog! I’m from South Wales hope you are enjoying your new life here! Look forward to reading more of your blog!
Hello Amy-Louise!
I am so glad you came across my blog. I love hearing from bloggers from the UK and Wales! I am adjusting to life slowly but surely, and it for sure is a bit of an adventure.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week!
Cheers,
Belinda
I am in the same boat when it comes to the ranch, it isn’t sold anywhere here and I miss it! I think I need a Costco membership asap! You can use your American one here right?
Sounds like you had a great weekend!
Hi Yaya!
I know that Neal has used his UK membership in a US Costco. Why not give it a try? It is funny (and comforting) to see American brands like Heinz or Skippy peanut butter! It is awesome!!
Have a great week…
Cheers,
Belinda
Every now and again, the weekend will be a “check shit off the to-do list”, lol. Cute dog!
Hi Nichole! You know just what kind of weekend I mean!! When you power through and are wiped by Sunday, but whew doesn’t it feel good?
Have a great week!
Belinda
I love weekends like this!
Every once and while, these weekends are needed to feel productive and ready to take on the world! So happy we got so much pending stuff done!
Thanks for stopping by my blog… have a great rest of your week.
Cheers,
Belinda
We have a set of six album frames and rotate the artwork (albums) in them about once a month and I love it!
I love that you do that too! I just need to find a few more, thinking 3-4 and get them onto the wall. Some of the albums are just too neat to store away!
