Yee-haw, It’s Friday!
Three Day Weekend on the Horizon Filled with a Roadtrip and Castles
Greetings my lovely little bunnies and how excited are you that it is Friday? Yeah, I am. I am so excited that I am doing a happy dance at work. It’s embarrassing and my co-workers are chuckling a bit at me. You know what? I am okay with that.
This weekend, Neal and I are heading to Cardiff to scope out castles, castles and more castles. (Did you know Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere in the world? It’s true.) The weekend will be filled with Mumford & Sons, snack foods and seeing new sights. Oh… did I mention that we are taking a three-day weekend which makes it even BETTER! Woo-hoo. Be ready for a slew of upcoming photos next week! (If you can’t wait to see my snapshots… follow me on {Instagram}!)
Now, onto my week…
Earlier this week I joined my colleague for my first lunch with UK clients. I was nervous as I am still learning the how-to’s of British decorum and conversation. (Yes, it is different over here. Just a tad more polite and a bit more reserved.) After chatting about the weather (always a topic here in the UK) the conversation turned to myself, how I met Neal and how I am adjusting to life here in the jolly UK. We chatted about travel, pop culture, fancy dress, American politics and more. Here were just a few of their surprises about the differences between US and the UK:
That the American political system looks like a big media circus filled with celebrities.
Surprised that Americans woke up in the early hours to watch the royal wedding live (while wearing tiaras)
That fascinator and hats are not part of ”fancy dress” especially for weddings.
How Sticky Toffee Pudding and Honeycomb ice cream are not a part of American dessert selections
That it takes five hours to cross from one side of Washington State to the other, that’s how long it takes to drive across the UK. (Give or take.)
That horseracing isn’t a popular pastime in the Pacific Northwest, here there are horse races all the time. (Think: Royal Ascot!)
I had to chuckle a bit at their surprise at the differences in cultures.
Ah, now onto some of my favorite pictures of my week:

I was crazy enough to order an iced latte on a cold January morning. I enjoyed it so much!
Ordered, downloaded and printed the digital download pack from HelloHeyYo! So Cute!! (Did you miss the guest post? Check it here.) I am going to pop them into bright white frames. Good use of $3, right?
I bought a new photo app for my iPhone (of course I did), called Pro HDR. I am sure I will be testing it out this weekend…. Here is the first try:

A snapshot of Chester Cathedral using my new photo app: ProHDR.
And of course Freddy has to make an appearance:

Freddy says hello….
As always, I am linking up with Lauren for High Five for Friday….
I hope you all had a wonderfully rockin’ week and ready to hit the weekend up in style.
