Greetings my lovelies! This weekend was another relaxing one here in the Northern Wales. The weather was sunny and bright, making it nice to get out of the house…even for errands. On Saturday, we walked around town eyeing gift options to bring back to the States. (Did I mention that we fly three weeks on Friday!?!) As we went through town, we people watched and simply enjoyed the sunshine. Today, I felt (in better words) lazy. All I wanted to do was curl in bed and finish my book Discovery of Witches. (I am about 100 pages to the end, and I just want to finish.) And for about an hour, that is just what I did. In the afternoon, we headed out to see another CADW site: Valle Crucis Abbey. The skies were blue and the trees were beautiful colors, and we even brought lil Freddy along. It was nice to get out of the house, even for just a little bit, and enjoy the bright sun. Tonight for dinner, I am attempting to make a Thai Chicken Soup vegetarian style.
With that, here are some pictures of my weekend….
Freddy enjoyed snuggling with me this morning I read my book. Bless.
Our visit to Valle Crucis Abbey…
For us to visit the Valle Crucis Abbey, it took us just shy of (get this) 25 minutes! Can you believe that an amazing historic ruin like this is literally outside our doorstep? We are going to keep looking for Cadw locations to visit, especially now that we have free admission to all the sites. Neal mentioned that in the New Year, we could take a weekend trip to visit sites in Southern Wales, near Cardiff and such…that should be another fun adventure!
- We got so lucky with the weather, and check out those fall colors!
- Freddy felt like stepping up to the pulpit and give a sermon.
- The structure of the abbey was amazing. Did I mention that it was built in 1200?
- For being such an ancient set of ruins, I was impressed how well maintained it is.
- The front of the abbey. I tried to imagine what it looked like with the windows all intact.
How was your weekend? Any exciting sights?
