There are defining moments of living as an expat, when you can’t deny that you are in fact no longer a tourist or on vacation. Some of these milestones could include: learning the currency to snagging a cell phone or heading to the dentist (I have achieved all three). Today however, I achieved one thing that has me classified unquestionably as an expat: I landed a job.
Yes, you read that right… a company here in the United Kingdom finds my American skills worth while. Excellent. Most excellent. Although the gig is a temporary contract, it gets me off the couch and stops me from hanging out with Freddy all day. For three months, I will be working as an Account Executive at a marketing firm in Chester, England. I will be commuting via the bus on a daily basis, perfect for reading!
